Kenneth Cole

We can't think of anyone in the fashion industry that gets more deserved acclaim for his philanthropic endeavors than Kenneth Cole---tireless endeavors since 1985...

He must be a master at time management too-considering his Kenneth Cole Productions, Inc continues to deliver very stylish contemporary collections (actually three of them)- in apparel, footwear and accessories. Among all the other things he has going on-including serving as a judge on the reality show-Project Accessory!

We got to the Kenneth Cole New York Spring 2012 media preview on the early side-and lucked out with a lengthy chat with lead designer, Ingo Wilts---a native a Germany-who clearly loves his new hometown-as this outing of well designed separates harks back to the company's urban heritage---

unstructured blazer-perfect weight for summer

As Wilts commented, "(the collection)...goes back to New York...and the Highline..."-now an iconic Big Apple park- and also a top destination for visitors.

"The whole idea of color-the white and the gray reflects the buildings next door (to the Highline)," Wilts added.

"The industrial...and nature," inspired the tonal palette and prints.

Wilts also pointed out to us-"...the idea of working with contrasts..tight on the bottom...loose on top...a tight weave shown with an open weave...a short skirt with a long blazer."
