Backstage (really, upstairs)...from the  spacious event space Highline Stages---was already a hub of activity when we got there two hours before the scheduled start of the Fall 2013 Yigal Azrouël RTW Fashion Show.
YEAH!!! We first eyed one of our favs...Gina Edwards-lead manicurist for this show-using Julep nail polish in KIRA-an oxblood-a shade that works on all skin tones-ad is "edgy-everyone can wear it...

Gina Edwards-with Julep's Kira Nail Polish and freedom Top Coat. Expect a lot of press for Ms. Edwards-she is lead manicurist of a lot of NYFW shows for Fall 2013. Talent and congeniality are a very good combo, imo.
---topped off with the brand's new Freedom Polymer Top Coat- that "...imparts a gel like shine---and that helps polish last-like two weeks," Edwards clued us in. Impressively-it dries, smudge free in about five minutes with no special light needed. Big Plus-works with other polishes too.

model's get multi-tasked

Julep- Kira nail polish works well with smoky eye make-up

Sunday Riley was the lead make-up artist and had the models looking gorgeous in a sophisticated smokey eye---but 'with no harsh edges', and strong brows...groomed to perfection.
Sunday Riley---has her own skin care/make-up lines

The look was 'the girl crawling along the floor in that George Michael video'-Riley said- (from the 90's we guess-though it reminded it us of of supermodel Kate Moss's make-up in his latest video from last summer)...-alluring and strong.  Not a vampy 'made' face though ---but very very wearable---a city sophisticate look.

For off the catwalk---"focus on the eyes"---without the contouring...sheer tinted lips, light gloss...peachy/pink

a make-up artist gets a tutorial...

for extra night time chisel-contour blush along the the lower part of the cheekbone-put on creme/powder bronze-or neutral brown...and also on the circular nostril tips of nose for a narrower line...as pictured.

then blend blend BLEND with a brush---no harsh lines.

darker black/grey shadow is concentrated from the middle of the eye-out-for a subtle lift-not full blown cats eye. Inner rims lined with black pencil

make-up table includes the pro's top cult favs-Embryolisse. Jao hand cleanser, Caldalie, Bioderma Creatine and of course Sunday Riley's own Effortless  Breathable Tinted Primer and Creme Radiance Breathable Ageless Foundation

it took three different eye brushes---blend the shadow just right...a lot better finished looked that way

James Pecis-Hair for Bumble+Bumble

Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray (4oz $25)-helps get that wavy beachy, wind swept look  that is a sexy, classic style-with a lot of texture---and  a hair style-btw- we saw at a lot of shows. Why not-it makes th models look even more beautiful
Thick, healthy tresses, lots of shine---and for the gals who had thin hair-they got extensions for added volume.

fyi-playing cards used to prevent ridges in the hair where the pin curl clips are

hair blown out-then pin curls for some waves---

WHAT ELSE...
Healthy eats and sweets disappeared in about a half hour....

Set came in through the back door...a swarm of workers got this show set-up and dismantled...fast.
