BRANTA™ Fall/Winter 2013/14-LUXURY OUTERWEAR BY CANADA GOOSE

Outdoor Retailer/SLC-Utah

Branta™ is Canada Goose's contemporary outerwear brand- inspired by this upscale label's celebration of its heritage style.

Laurier Parka light weight 625 fill power white duck down with a waterproof laminated finish-this Travel Collection piece comes n 6 colors. A multi-tasking trim jacket with princess seams +quilt stitching that flatters- for gals-sizes 2XS-2XL-that packs down-removable+ adjustable hood cozied up w/ high pile fleece lined high collar, bold two way locking YKK zips, pockets= interior zipped and one w/ headphone access,  and out---2 lower fleece-lined drop-in pockets w/ snaps, extra long fleece lined stretch cuffs w/ thumbholes, interior shoulder straps, distinguished logo patch
What we saw-both last January and again this summer (shipping now) are the limited editions of the Shells, Italian Luxury and  Travel Collections- all performance wear items enabled with  massive doses of on-trend chic...perfect for the urban market who needs protective warm outerwear---but does not require the "umph" of some of Canada Goose's highly technical separates like their new technical shells (our review).

Aosta Bomber-luxurious Loro Piana wool in the outer shell with Storm System® finish, white goose down insulation, heavy-duty YKK 2 way locking zips secured with snaps, 2 fleece lined high hand warmer pockets with snaps, 2 lower drop-in pockets w/ fleece lining + snaps, interior shoulder straps, hidden security pocket (maybe euipe with a alarm ha ha), one way adjustable down hood w/ removable ruff, terrific varsity style bomber--with the rib knit waistband and cuffs= signature touches of this vintage style-women's sizes 2XS to 2XL

Think= the Canada Goose functional outerwear individuals layer up on for summit jaunts to Mt Everest as gushed about in Outside magazine vs skiers off-piste attire in St. Moritz or Aspen glam appropriate in a Branta parka- suitable for featuring in the glossy GQ.

Or appearing on the #4 or 5 train in our case-as even Mayor Bloomberg rides that subway line and would look rather debonair in wintry NYC-outfitted in an understated,  top-of-the line Branta™ down jacket. And we think he doesn't even ski.

What distinguishes Branta™ from other high end labels---including those by big name designers who--- like also sell handbags and perfumes (in-house or licensed)...are the no compromise ever... technical aspects of the pieces combined with modern silhouettes..."while staying authentically Canadian," according to a quote we pulled from the press release-stated by Dani Reiss, President and CEO of Canada Goose.

herringbone pattern...
Look for fashion-y details ---tailored, slim silhouettes-warm with lightweight down, retro-styled yolks, leather trims, antique brass finishings, and military inspired features that are by nature, very utilitarian.

Top materials include waxed cotton, cashmere and luxurious 'tricked out' wool from the Italian fashion house Loro Piana---with woven protection built in courtesy of the company's Storm System® technology.

And weather tough textiles too-including laminated fabrics  for moisture wicking, waterproof-windproof protection...all delivered in rich colors that inspire the Great White North...Silverbirch, Arctic Dusk, Arctic Surf, Ocean, Cedarwood, Harvest and Arctic Tundra.

Canada Goose and Branta™ no surprise here-available in several high end retail establishments-Barney's, Nordstrom's Paragon Sports, Bloomingdales.com,  Gorsuch, Saks 5th Ave, The Tannery, Canadian Icons---to name a few.
