Lucky Darling-New Fragrance by Lucky Brand

A winter's day (still Autumn-a mere technicality though)--- got an aromatic dose of California sunshine -Lucky Darling Fragrance Collection

December 10th/NYC

It was JUST like the hit song, "Get Lucky"---an irresistible merger of les français -French duo  Daft Punk- blended perfectment with the production/performer/writer genius of the USA -Pharrell Williams

Velvety pink peony petals, citrus fresh mandarin, spicy warm ginger---with our fav vetiver in the mix
Yes, our thoughts EXACTLY as we attended the media preview of the new fruity fresh Lucky Darling fragrance by denim casual Californian lifestyle inspired Lucky Brand…created by the France's perfumer Laurent Le Guernec in collaboration with Elizabeth Arden fragrances.
Yes, we all do wish we could be California Girls …circa 1990---but now this approachable scent, currently available in Lucky Brand stores …and soon at Macy's (January)- can inspire happy sunny glam outings…via wearable all day/night eau de parfum and body lotion.

Laurent Le Guernec-French and with a sense of humor…that is not so French, ha ha.
AND though the trend lately in fragrances has been away from florals-the chosen ingredients here---particular with the sensual base notes (see below)- are very joie de vivre-gamine…with imo-hints of Parisian sophistication too…

TOP NOTES: Ginger, juicy Mandarin, Red Currant
MID NOTES: Pink Peony, Wisteria, Orange Flower
BASE NOTES: Vetiver, Massoia Wood, Musk

The gorgeous blonde Keke Lindgard stars in the advertisement campaign-capturing the modern fragrance's charismatic and sporty West Coast charm.

Interesting for us will be Lucky Darling's Western European debut…as all thing vintage/authentic American clothing labels do fabulously well overseas….and we think this scent is certainly chic enough-that its niche market (women 25-45 years old)…transcends borders.

BONUS-the packaging. Of course with fragrances-sometimes it's mostly the bottles that sell the scent-but here the development process was aromatically driven. The bottle is beautiful-inspired by the florals of Lucky Darling. The gold charm reflects the glamour and "notion of stardom" of the fragrance…and nicely resembles some of the jewelry we saw in the Lucky Brand showroom. Lovely Valentine's Day gift----

WHAT ELSE: It's always great to see how a brand's fragrance so well 'matches' the clothes/accessories… in this instance- Lucky Brand's Spring 2014 collection…that made us see why Lauren Hutton modeled (epitomized) the boho chic, California ease---of the label.
